The past few months have been extraordinary for countries across the globe due to the outbreak of COVID – 19 and the preventative measures that are being taken to safeguard communities against the virus.

In the interest of the well – being, health and safety of our staff and learners, New Horizon College suspended the Academic programme on 18 March 2020. Thereafter, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a nationwide lockdown as part of efforts to curb the spread of the virus in the country.

I appreciate the fact that this is a worrying and difficult time and recognise that many of our staff and learners are understandably anxious, given the unprecedented circumstances that our country is facing. I am very proud of the way our school is rallying together in these difficult circumstances. Over the past few months, the pioneering spirit of NHC – the courage and capability to do things differently – “the online teaching”. All educators created ‘whatsapp’ groups. All our learners could continue with their academics during lockdown. Thank you to all the parents for buying data. To all the teachers thank you for your commitment and spirit.

Let us not forget about some activities and events that have taken place in our school:
