  • New Horizon College is an independent, non-racial, educational institution with Christian values.
  • Students will not be allowed into the Boarding Establishment if their Boarding fees have not st been paid before the 1 day of each term. Learners will be suspended if school/hostel feesare outstanding.
  • No student is allowed in a teacher’s flat/room.
  • Students are responsible for the cleanliness of the dining hall, study hall, dormitories, lockers and ablution blocks at all times.
  • RCL must check tidiness of all rooms, as well as the behavior of the students throughout the hostel.
  • Lockers will be inspected on a regular basis. This is to ensure general neatness.
  • No ball games, running or wrestling will be allowed in the hostel.
  • Lights must be switched off when not in use.
  • Should a student be in possession of a cell phone/iPad/Laptop or any other electronic device, loss or damage thereof will be at his/her own risk and NHC shall be indemnifiedagainst any claim of whatever nature.
  • No Cell phones/iPads/Laptops will be allowed during the week for primary and Gr 8-9 learners. It will be collected by the RCL on Sunday evenings and issued on Friday afternoons.
  • The parent and student will be required to adhere to a detailed “Disciplinary Code”, “The Cell Phone & Cyber / Bullying Policy”, “School Violence Police” and such other Policies that may be implemented from time to time. Upon successful admission of a student to NHC or Hostel, it shall be the exclusive responsibility of the parent and student to familiarize themselves with the contents of all Codes and Policies of NHC, which documents will be made available upon request.
  • ZERO TOLERANCE: Students in possession of/or under the influence/smelling of alcohol, drugs, theft, bulling, harassment etc. will be expelled with immediate effect.
  • Students may receive visitors (parents) only with the Boarding Master’s permission.
  • Students must pay for damages they have caused and / or are responsible for.
  • Parents must make prior arrangements (before 11:00 the previous day) if they want their children to go home. Telephone calls will not be acceptable. Communicate by sending a fax.
  • No student may leave the premises without permission from the staff member/teacher on duty.
  • Should a student leave the premises without permission, the College will not accept any responsibility for the unauthorized act or consequences thereof.
  • No student will be allowed in the kitchen.
  • All students must attend the Sunday church services.
  • All students must strictly comply with and adhere to study and meal timetables.
  • A copy of the student’s medical aid card must be submitted to the Boarding Master/Mistress.

NB: CODE OF CONDUCT IS APPLICABLE TO ALL BOARDING STUDENTS
